The Council of Europe Gender Equality Strategy 2018-2023 was formally adopted by the Committee of Ministers on Wednesday, 7 March 2018.

The Vice-President of the Conference of INGOs in charge of Gender Equality has participated in the elaboration of this new strategy which is going to be launched in Copenhagen on 3 and 4 May 2018. Now a recommendation combating sexism for adoption by the Committee of Ministers is being drafted. This is not an easy task, because both the definition and the approach are new. The Member States were asked to participate in a compilation of good practices to prevent and combat sexism. Its writing is still underway.
